Hey all,

I finally got around to preparing and uploading a bunch of the pics from my trip to California for Bug-In 32 in the spring of last year.

I've posted ~230 photos from Bug In 32 and various shops that we visited during our stay. There are a few of them below, and you can find all of them in a gallery at http://www.speedshots.net/events/bugin32_4_2005 (in the gallery, click on the main image to advance to the next one)

In case you didn't already know, many of the "people" pics include myself, Rickey Graffeo, Dyno Don Chamberlin, and Chip Foose. Besides the Bug In, our destinations included JayCee Enterprises, Ron Lummus Racing, the Bug In host hotel for the pre-event mixer, Moon Eyes, Foose Design, and more.

Thanks again to Dyno Don for giving Rickey and I a place to crash, putting up with us, and being our SoCal tour guide/comedian/story teller.

Enjoy!
--Eric

Eric,
Something that you may not realize is that we racers miss much of an event by participating.  We are so focused on all the details each run that we miss all of the little things going on around us.  Your photography, your nack of getting the shot at the right moment helps us relive the experience.

I've been drag racing for fourty years and your shot of Troy at the Bug-In 32 starting line for the Q32 Final with the "gun shot" finger pointing will be one of my best memories of all the drag races I've ever attended.

Now if you could just ad his "horn blowing" noise to the photo it would be complete!

Thanks

That was a very cool event!

What happened to this car? Wasn't it going to run P/M too?

Great pics Eric.  Glad to see you finally got around to it.  I didn't know if I would still be around when you got to it.   Grin

Thanks again for the compliments, all.

I had a great time while I was in SoCal, put a number of new faces with old names, and am looking forward to my next trip.

John, I know exactly what you mean about missing the event for being in a race car. I've run in a few races this year in borrowed VW's and/or my own non-VW. I tried to race and shoot pics, but time didn't allow for me to take many photos. I hope to be racing my own car next year, so I guess that I'm going to have to show someone else to work my camera.

As you can tell, I took a ton of photos - most of which have not been online before. I don't know the owners of all the cars that I shot, so if you know who is who, feel free to let them know that they are "famous" now... Grin

Wow three shots of my car. I drove it over 750 miles to the show in one day. I spent three hours at Matt Harris's house washing it. Thanks a lot Rob Roetman

Thanks, Glenn. That means a lot coming from someone of your experience and talent.

I hope so. I was bummed that Bug-In 33 didn't happen this year, but maybe that'll make for another great turnout in 2007.

You would never know it. Your car was super clean, very detailed, and the fact that you drove it a long distance to the event makes it that much cooler.
