 Alrighty Jason,
I,m gonna step in here. I,ll try not to muddle it up too bad.  Just want to thank the fine folks at VWP for ALL they do for this sport.

Also want to let everyone know that Barona is a Top Notch facility, NHRA Sanctioned, a little short {1/8} but a very nice place to race.

Oh yeah, I,ll be waiting in line with Fuel can in hand  Grin

Speed Records is a new show coming to Speed as part of Launch Hour (that starts in July). The premiss is that if your going for a SPEED RECORD, Local, Reginal, Track, National...whatever we want to come out and capture your attempt.

So we are going to have a crew at Barona capturing the attempts that will happen Saturday.

We are having a Classic weekend sale at VW Paradise from 9 am to 2 pm. We will be giving away 100 gallons of VP C-12 race fuel (5 gallons per customer) until gone. Their will be two bracket classes. The HIGH ROLLER which is a $50 buy in with a $500 pay out and the LOW ROLLER which is a $30 buy in with a $300 pay out. If the car count supercedes minuim car limit, the purse will be larger and pay out deeper in the rounds. The rest of the lanes will be for grudge racing. Any of the Hot VWs 1/8 mile records can be set at this event (except for ECPRA,PRA,NHRA,IHRA designated events and the C/S class). The A/S and A/SX records will be the first to change hands.   Or very excited , Marty , this saturday will be a very very good time at a great track that is virtually unknown to most of the vw crowd . I don't know if you have ever raced at Barona but it's very unique and always a great experience . I know you and your dad are racing somewhere else this weekend that too is cool , good luck and have a good time .  Pat

Just a quick note about setting new 1/8th mile records. As you know, you have to backup the new record within 1%. If someone does break the A/S or A/SX records, you can not break both of them with the same (two) runs. You will have to make two more runs to set another record. Neither of the first two (record) runs will count towards another record......  And about C/Sedan. Since there will be no scales at this track, this record could not be broken, since weighing the car is part of the class rules (basically Super Street but without the PRA sanction).

I just got off the phone with one of the track operators.

Portable scales are being obtained as we speak. i was told that theres a 99% chance of the scales being there on Race Day! Grin
