Alright Gents,
I'm getting pumped for this event already, am flying out from Washington DC for the Classic.  Anybody going bowling on Saturday before the Classic?  I'll be the guy with the bored-looking wife, it would be great to meet some of you folks if you're going to be there.  Also, I'm trying to decide whether it is worth it or not to stay at the host hotel (Crowne Plaza) or someplace closer to the airport...are there a lot of cars in the parking lot/displays of speed/etc that goes on there?

Looking forward to meeting y'all and checking out some great cars!

Got a few problems here at the homestead

The wife feels that selling the Fiat will fix most of the problems -- and I've got to choose between having the family or the car --

there will always be other cars  -- -- so somebody will score probably one of the neatest cars I have ever owned

Offers are welcome -- as soon as I have got some time I'm gonna do an ad on the samba listing all the goodies.

I'm SUPPOSED to be picking up my new 60 ragtop at the end of may (it's been a 4 month ordeal since the deposit was made...hope everything comes through on time) and I should have a week and a half to get the body, paint, interior, front suspension and motor (stock for now till money permits) finished. I sure hope I can make it to DKP and Classic. I wish I had a week off from work to get everything buttoned up a little easier without the late nights. I'm definately looking forward to having a car at the show for the first time in 5 years

A friends suggestion of how to fill the day and to eliminate the usual boredom associated with car show events. He suggested that a portable chassis dyno be placed on site. The proprietor of the chassis dyno would charge a nominal fee for each run. As the participants line up for their go on the dyno, a jackpot class could be established for NA, Turbo, Nitrous, Pump Gas and Race Gas classes. Winner to take all in each class. Whatcha think? Feasible? Interested?

I think that would be a great idea. Chassis dyno, BIKINI CONTEST, games, BIKINI CONTEST, rock climbing wall, BIKINI CONTEST, squirt gun and water balloon fighting area, BIKINI CONTEST...

I would really love to see more things for people to do....Rather than only looking at mostly the same old cars in the hot sun on blacktop. Maybe some fun games like at a carnival. Alot of guys will be with wives, girlfriends and kids, which usually aren't too thrilled about that 67 only pedal assembly or oval window fender....If we had more things to do, people would stay longer and the vendors would make more money. It would be a win-win. Although, I don't anticipate on this year's show being as big as last year's...due to the economy.

I have the event posted on another site, but if you are looking for something to do on Sunday, June 7, the Der Primer Panzers Club is hosting its 2nd Annual (I was hoping I was gonna get to say that!) Picnic and Cruise! We're meeting at Wardlow Park in Long Beach (on Wardlow, 1/4 east of Long Beach Airport), at 12pm, providing food and drinks for as long as they last, then cruising at 3pm, around Signal Hill and the like, until we reach Nick's Burgers for DKP! If you have any questions, let me know!

AND.... if you're here on Tuesday, we will be meeting as always at Imperial Burger, starting at 7pm... We're located at 6201 Lincoln Ave, just east of Valley View in the city of Buena Park (on the Buena Park/Cypress border)... We are keeping in mind that June 9th marks three years since we lost our dear friend Mark Herbert, so if anyone from out of town would like to come by and reminisce, or hear our stories of the Big Guy, you're more than welcome!
