I know i won't win anything this year, my motor is just 9.5 to 1, tiny cam, itty bitty carbs, maybe it will make enough torque to get the rollers turning. If not maybe I can sneak up there and give the tire a kick to get it started.

I ain't buying it James....

It's in Peachtree City about 1hr south of Atlanta. Stop by Sat. on your way to the track. We all leave from there and go to the motel at Perry Sat. afternoon.

I got some hammers and wench on my service rig. I can stop by next week and help you beat/pull it out. OR you could just make you a plywood door. As far out in the stix as you are no body would notice.

looking at my raw numbers from all the engines I have had on that dyno in the past, the power losses were all about the same percentage despite the overall output of the engine.

So what was that percentage for those of us who have no idea what the #s would be at the flywheel. I know its not as good as time with the engine on the dyno but for some of us it will be close enough.

Here ya go..
The first engine I brought to dyno day was a 2165 TI used to test my TI DTM. I won that year with 131 RWHP and that engine made 151 HP on my dyno 3 days before...

The next year I brought the 3 liter R&D engine and it made 185RWHP with the belt and 195 W/O the belt. On my dyno that engine made 235 W/O the belt... I had carb issues and tuned the engine after dynoing it here and I believe the settings hurt my RWHP numbers.

That same year I also brought my 914 that made 148 RWHP and 174 on my dyno. The 901 gearbox eats up power like mad compared to a VW trans..

Last year I had the engine we used for the HOT VWs article "Type 4 Torquer" installed in my car, that engine made 148RWHP and 170 on my dyno.

From those you should be able to get an idea of what the percentages are from flywheel to RWHP num, bers on AllSpeed's dyno..

Yep, Blue cars have dominated this event for it's entire evolution to date.... Ain't that right Mel?Huh

THanks Jake for that observation,,

SO, 171 hp last year means about 195 at the flywheel!,,, Thats KEWL!!!!!

so, if you had a motor that made 210 flywheel with the belt and muffler, then bumped the CR from 9.5 to 12-1 , think blue cars still win?

I've had blue VWs, even still have it.  I had to put a big white stripe down the side to slow it down, it was so fast.  Now, I put a 1600 in it to slow it down even more.  I finally gave up on it and decided to build a slow car, 'cause it was still too fast, no matter what I did.  The first thing I did on this new car was paint it black primer.  That slowed it down a bunch!  Now I have a little stroker motor in it and it just gets in the 13s.  Maybe later this year I'll feel like going fast again and paint it blue!
