Well since I missed Drag Day -- I've got the itch -- done a lot of changes in the car and really haven't done a pass with it and would like to -- don't know which place I would rather go to -- Thurs at Irwin or Fri down by you -- I'm just worried about the freak factor coming out for "Baldie" and if it would be worth it to be there

And Wheelie bars -- please call 'em by their real name -- sissy bars

Come on and join my new club -- The Bumper Boyz -- "If you ain't dragin' it - you ain't drivin' it" LOL

This event turned out to be a lot of FUN.

            HEADS UP DRAG RACING!!!!

Was not  able to participate but spectating was quite enjoyable.

I think Rich Christianson might have a 'winner" with this concept.  May have changed my mind about the guy, he certainly does promote this Sport / Hobby we are in. He also introduced some High School kids from two local High Schools here in San Diego, Ramona High and I think El Camino High in Oceonside. He gave each school $10,000 to build a Drag Race car and then Race each other, I have seen one of the cars at a local High Performance shop I will not mention by name. Cheesy Thats another "Show" on Speedvision,  "High School High".... anyway...

About 200 cars showed up, averyone got two passes to establish the different catagories, ...cars were put in groups based on ETs.   5.00 to 5.50 , 5.50 to 6.00 , 6.00 to 6.50, 6.50 to 7.00 , and so forth.
Groups were called to the lanes and you raced whoever you lined up against, the winner came right back to the lanes and raced whoever he lined up against ( another winner) , losers went home. The "Arm Dropper", had the Tree covered with a Black cloth cover, had his 'Perch" set up in front of the Tree. He had a Box in front of him that was wired to the pre-stage and stage lights so he could bring the cars to the line and line em up by hand, then he went into his "Arm Drop" routine,.... Personally I think the "Starter" should be a Hot Chick in Daisy Duke shorts or something, but thats just ME!!  ....No Ladder, No times or MPH , just a Win Light. There were a couple of Red Lighters, and the crowd immediatly went into an uproar, the Red Lighter was sent home. The racing was very fast paced, no time for anyone to go to their pits, ... there were a couple of "bye" runs cause a 'Winner" from a previous round could not make it back for whatever reason....  Very Cool format....
This was the first time at Barona I have ever seen NO TNT lane Open,  there was no time for that anyways..

Each group was racing for Money based on the number of cars in that group and based on the speeds. Side bets were Flyin as usual here at Barona, Ive said it before these guys are a bunch of "Gamblin Fools", I cant wait to get the new motor on E-85 so I can join in with em....

The slowest group went first, (8 cars) racing for $200, the next group (16 cars ) was racing for $750,  the fastest group was racing for about $4000, the amount of cars varied from group to group but  the dollar amounts went up for each group.  Rich took NO Money from the event.

This was the Very largest Event I have ever seen here at Barona,, ... this guy can certainly attract a crowd,   ... I think everyone wants to be on TV...... too bad the cameras were not there as this event was a "test"or a Warm Up to future events...
