Is your '69 a US-spec IRS, or is it swing-axle?

if the rims no stick out and it's stock height rear it should clear. I get 215x65s with 6in rims and the rims are even with the fenders so the tires sidewalls stick out smallkine but clear. If it was lowered couple inches then it might be a problem. Aloha Kehau

Hi ,
I run Goodyear 205/70 x15's on 6" x15 Fuchs Porsche rims (flat partn° 911). With the standard height there is no problem at all for clearance .

That tire is pretty big, though guys have run bigger. It all depends on the backside spacing of those wheels. Plus the disc brake kit may not have the mounting surface in the same place as the oem drum. Sometimes the springplate nuts/bolts get in the way with the sidewall and this can be minimized a bit. With a cast or forged wheel the offset can't be changed so I've suggested to folks who wanted to run wheels like that is to try mounting a used tire to check for clearance prior to buying new tires. As we all know, once you buy and mount up new tires, you own them. So far nobody has piped in to that exact combo, so this is my best suggestion. Bill

Oh, and why 215/65? This is not the most popular size that I can think of. For "big rubber" I like 215/60 or 205/65. Oem diameter and lots of choices.

the reason I went with the Falken 175-65-15 front and the 215-65-15 is the size front is almost the same size as 14-R15 1/4" taller but 1 1/2 wider most stable and 215 -65-15 are only 1/2" bigger that 165R15 and with out much trouble they will fill the wheels wells nicely... and one of only a few tires I could ge the same pattern.....
