so could someone tell me how wide the original smoothie wheels are from '64. i think they are 5.5" but unsure.

I didn't think VW started making anything wider than 4 inches until 71 for the Superbeetles. Maybe the Bus rims in the 60's were 5.5. Anyone else?

ok that stinks 4.5" is not wide enough. guess i either need to find a widened set for the rears or have mine done. anyone have a set kicking around in your garage done already you don't need anymore.

yes but '67 wheels have slots and are not smooth correct.

Correct. I just saw a set of 63/64 wheels on the Samba that were widened to 5.5

way to big but thanks. i put a wtb post here and on samba and have a guy that responded already with a pair of 6" wide. waiting for his reply back.

And there you have it! At $4,317.97 for a set of 4, THAT'S why no one has made nice custom wheels.
