I have an EMPI GT that I have had for 20 years or so.. Its in really good condition, but the wood needs to be reconditioned to bring it up to par with the rest of the car..

I'd do the work myself, but I don't know the proper product to use to restore the finish as original.. There is no damage to the wood and the other parts of the wheel are pristine..

Who does this sort of work??

I called them about it last year.. They told me they didn't do the EMPI wheels, mentioned some guy that frequents to Pomona swap meets, but I never heard of him and wasn't about to send him my wheel!

Jake,
If I remember right the wood was treated with Linseed oil like the old M1 Garand Stocks.

Interesting... That explains the finish.. The wheel really just needs to be retouched a bit, mainly because it has lost the sheen..

Why not have it wrapped with leather?

Deano,
I wanted to keep it original, but I had thought about a nice wrap.. I may attempt refinishing it myself, but I really don't want to screw it up, because its so damn perfect otherwise..
