Why not just get another one from Berg's? You know the product and are happy with it.

What you want is an OEM German fan. Have it checked for straight and balance, then welded. Many shops do this. Jason Eggum, Brothers, and who knows how many.

How high do you have to rev an engine to blow a fan? I run a powerpully and a stock german fan, I rev to 8K, but will hold at 7K for more than a minute at times.

Sounds like your running on borrowed time, I made 3 passes at dragnight with the revlimiter set at 7 grand, then my first pass at farmington it exploded in third gear (i think, not sure exactly when it went) one of my buddies saw parts come out towards the end of the track.

Its worth it to pay extra for the Berg. Like cheap insurance!
I am going to Berg on Monday to purchase a new one.

fifty-five,
If memory serves me right, 115.00. I had a Scat killer bee fan and it grew in my shroud so big I could not get it out! Like I said, Mark down at Berg had to cut it out with a torch.
It's funny, I had two scat things on my motor and both failed and where junk...........

The Berg fans are truly balanced after they are welded. Alot of guys get a balanced fan and then weld it up and sell it.
Once it's welded, its no longer balanced unless it's done after the welding........

Here's a Scat fan that blew up about 10 minutes after installing it.
It made quite a mess.

It amazes me every time I go to a show and see Scat there selling their garbage! With their "I want you" Uncle Sam prop!
It should say: "We want your money, for 20 cents on the dollar"!
Every single item that I purchased from them failed. That was their fan and their lube a lobe lifters. TOTAL CHINESE JUNK.
It amazes me they still sell the junk and people still purchase it..........
