I recently purchased a box of vintage VW parts and noticed a box of unopened eagle lifters. They were purchased in '81 from Claudis Buggies. Im not real sure of the quality and was wondering if anybody had any experience with them and what application they would be safe to use with. Thanks!!

So what would be the limits for the lifters? Ive been collecting parts for my 2276 for about 3years and Im only using the good stuff. Im only in it 350 bucks in the motor minus carbs and the only thing used is the old school forged Scat crank I scored from and old 2180cc. No garbage here boys.

Those old things generally had good heat treatment,
since they were usually done by OEM.

Only down side was that some had HUGE face diameter.
There was a range of sizes available,
but I had an old set that was about 1.25"  !!

These seems to have a thicker-than-stock surface, and the diameter of the lifter face is smaller.

You sure that those were not ~31.75mm, Dave? Grin
