Guys as you may remember I had some issues with my cb 7 degree valve locks pulling through the reatiners at only a 180lb seat pressure. Anyways I have the parts to put my engine back together

I'm going with the VW 650 valve springs and going to run the CB supergrip valves, I got titanium retainers, but are those an improvement over the chromolly ones?  Is there some say 8 degree locks that won't pull through? Anyone else have similar problems, what did you do?

Maybe you just received a bad batch?

I've been running Crower keepers and Ti retainers at about the same seat pressure (and 420 lbs over the nose) with CB's RaceMaster valves without any issues. The 7 degree keepers are generally fine, and mismatching a keeper with a different angle will not help you.

Be sure to run keepers that are matched to the retainer. It's not just the angle, but the diameter, too. Buy the retainers and keepers from the same company; don't take a chance with a generic or unknown Ti retainer and somebody else's keepers.

I've got all stuff from CB, but it failed last time, a $400 bill for me to fix it, now i'm putting better springs in and i suspect the problem will get worse. Why is noone else having these sorts of problems?  What do yall drag racers do? My engine probably had 20 or so hours on it do these parts fatigue that quick?

Again, maybe you received a bad batch, or even the wrong keepers? Why didn't you address the issue with CB? I don't use their springs, retainers, or keepers so I can't comment on the quality/fit of their stuff.

Did I reply to your problem before?

I had a customer's motor in here not long ago. It had CB heads that the owner had installed with single valve springs. He had valve float so bad that the retainers were tagging the top of the valve guides. This caused the keepers to pull thru and crack.
We replaced the valves, keepers and retainers.
I also clearanced the guides and installed dual springs.
Also, I belt sand the keepers so that they don't touch when installed on the valve. This locks everything up solid.

WOW, I don't believe mine were floating, my piston/valve clearance is so tight i would have marks. The only piston that was marked was the one that the keeper pulled completly through. You may have seen the pics, it had the lash cap stuck in the retainer still!
