How do titanium valves hold up with the high exhaust gas temperatures of a turbo'd aircooled engine?
Better or worse then stainless or superalloy (Ferrea) valves?

The CB titanium valves would make a good example as I am considering these.

Anybody have any info or experience with this?

Tnx,
Walter

I have  no experience with turbo motors and Ti valves.
However, I do run Ti valves in my N/A race motor.
I know that in a drag race application (short time on throttle) using stock valve seats is OK.
However, if you are going to run Ti valves in a motor that is used for dirt track or other (long time on throttle) you need to use CuBe valve seats to help dissapate heat.

Your right Tom, the engine will also be used in circuit racing, so longer exposed time to higher EGTs, hence the q ;-)

The Berillium seats would not pose a problem to have installed, but will the (CB) Titanium valves stand the extra heat of a turbo?

run 11/32 tit ex 8mm int. and depending what stly heads you have. some ex ports expose the valves stem causing druoping of the valve head  more than others. long side of the ex port go DEEP usaly after market heads not OEM type. its when you shut the engine down is when it does the damedge. you can always pull the rockers off if your racing the car between rounds of racing this usaly will keep the stems straite. just my two bits .
