Went for a nice drive today.  Heater lever on, windows down and driving my cars always makes me feel better.

Bonus!  Just as I returned home, my neighbor Kay was washing her 2008 Golf R32.  I convinced her to park with me so we could take a few quick pics.

Sorry - no pics of Kay.  I believe she is in her 40's, Oriental, married and very nice.  Her husband Will drives a charcoal Audi A3 and rides a Ducati for fun.  Kay really knows her cars too!

Note I said cars (plural).  To me, driving the BMW is much more fun than the VW.  Better fuel mileage, more power, better seats, nice stereo, 5 speed, sunroof, better handling, etc.   I've made up my mind and the VW must be sold.

This BMW event in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is held twice a year at the same hotel that the VW crowd has their event.

Here is my car

We had a great caravan from the East Coast to Arkansas

I can't argue with you there, Jim - vintage BMWs are sweet rides.

I remember a neighbour (in the late 1980s) used to have a beautiful vintage silver 2002. Every time that I passed his house in my Beetle convertible I slowed down to admire it.

My bug has your BM beat with both the fuel mileage AND the power! Plus it looks way better.

Interesting comments!  My BMW has factory Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection (130 HP, 1990 cc and has returned a best mileage of 34 mpg on the highway) which didn't require any emissions controls during it's 3-year run in the USA (72-74).

130hp and an extra 400 lbs? Sounds like a boring antique! My car feels like the engine wants to crawl up your azz with almost double your hp and would make your girlfriend forget about her Golf after a ride in it. Having the extra power in my bug has made me love it all over again!

You must have not understood my response above ^^.  "Kay" is my neighbor who owns the 240 HP AWD R32.  She is not my girlfriend.  Congratulations on your hi-po VW, it sounds very fast.

Regardless of what you think, these "old" BMW's are anything but boring.
