Good Morning everyone,
I have been messing with lowering the rear end of my bug just a tad for the past 2 days and after i finally got it where I really wanted it a problem starts.
I take the car for a spin and come up to a stop light. The idle drops almost to stalling so I rev the motor up to keep it running.
I put the car in reverse to back away from the stop light and do a u-turn to limp her back home.
Upon backing up, I SMELL GAS!!!! I get out and look underneath and see no gas running out on the ground.
I get the car in the driveway and jump out to take a look at the motor. Drivers side carb: Intake manifold is very cold to the touch with condensation all over the manifold!!!
Electric fuel pump at 2.5 psi by the way. I turn the fuel pump on and can hear gasoline trickling down the manifold!!!!
Pushed the car in the garage and went in the house to shower. Came out the next day and turned the ignition on and hear nothing!!!?HuhHuh
Could my float valve have been stuck??? I suppose I need to take the carb apart. Lowering the rear end I know changed the angle of the carbs.
I dont think it's the dreaded "Dellorto Drip", I will pull the carb off today. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
         Thanks Wink

Sounds like a stick needle valve. Remove it and spray some parts cleaner in it. I had the same problem with my engine once. It dropped 2 cylinders and I found the valve stuck open.

Glenn,
Thanks for the help! I know because the car was sitting in the driveway facing down hill is why I could only hear it running down the front manfold! Both front and rear where pretty cool to the touch w/ condensation on both!
I will report back! Hopefully this is all it is!
Thanks Glenn, I appreciate the help!
