I have a set of stock dp heads that I want to throw on a summer runner. I noticed that there a few 'hairline' cracks in the combustion chamber. The valve seats look good w/ no cracks but I was just wondering how much these other cracks will effect me. Other than the minor cracks the heads look decent. I did hear from a vw guy that 9 out of 10 of these used dp heads will have these cracks and as long as it isn't in the seat you should be fine? Any truth?? Thanks...

If the cracks are between the spark plug hole and the seats, they are probably junk. If they are only between the seats, they may be ok.

if your talking about a crack inbetween the 2 valves, your fine as long as they are not in the seat, like you said
