How have you guys shipped a longblock type 1 across the country?  Which company did you use and how did you crate the engine?  Any help would be appreciated.

Just a long block?  Try Greyhound.

Get a pallet that is just a bit bigger than the engine all directions. Put wood blocks under the heads so it can't rock then use metal strapping over the heads to secure it to the pallet. Lay a towel or something before strapping for a bit of cushion. Then build a box around it.
