rear disk brake conversion on a long swing axle bug

Good news is i picked up a very nice 1970 1500 bug a couple of weeks ago from a small country town. Safari beige,two owners from new and a genuine 63k miles.
All original and intact and running great except for the brakes. Instead of the usual clean and renew i was wanting to run rear disk brakes with e brakes. The car has long swing axles and i have a short swing axle disk brake kit from empi which i purchased for a future project.
 The rear rotors have a porsche stud pattern as do the front rotors since i was wanting to use my cookie cutter wheels on this car. My fear is the long axles will protrude through the wheels centre cap area.
  As a test i bolted one porsche wheel to the rear drum and the axle protruded not allowing me to fit the centre cap. Will this be an issue with the disk brake kit?
 The kit did come with a spacer for each side, will this eleviate the problem or should i buy a new long axle kit or just fit up a set of short axle tubes and axles or just have another Fosters Beer....mate ?

I have a 64 with a 67-68 long axle short spine set up. The kit is a CB performance (w e brake) set up and the rotors needed the snouts to be turned down a bit in order for the axle nut to go on. I can't tell you about the performance of these, as I haven't driven the car yet, but I bought the kit based upon many others that were very pleased with the set up.

your quite right Eric. Fosters is piss.....thats why we export it to the rest of the world and keep the good beer like VB. I just didnt know if you guys knew of any other beer.LOL
 I have used the CB Kit on my previous bug with irs and found it to work very well indeed. Combined with the CB front disk kit it was very strong and fade free.
 Using an American venacular..It stopped on a dime with change to spare....Oh well i may not have the saying down pat but at least we have VB...

Small world (literally), as I had a drink at that same location a year and half ago.

But it wasn't Fosters.  

I've attached a photo that I took (down by the Opera House) of my drinking buddy. And then later kicking back at Bondi Beach.

I used the spacer and it bolted up fine -- the axle spline did protude past the end of the hub, but the spacer took care of that. And those brakes work very well.
