Back then you couldn't get in to Disneyland with hair like that.

I'm glad thats not true any more. My kids would never get in there with me.

Mike Childers experienced extensive injuiries, years back, in an accident at Manzinita Speedway, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was in a midget that had a serious crash from which he never recovered.  It was a tragic loss.  He stayed active in VWs and had a shop called Mike's Place in Phoenix, Arizona, until the time of the accident and unfortunate death.  It has been quite a few years since the incident here  in Phoenix.

I was one of Mr. C's students at Poly,. I was painted the front the Radical Rabbit numerous times after the fiberglass fender would be damaged putting the car on the trailer.  The actual car was donated by Mosley's auto in Long Beach. I had great memories of visiting Mike C in AZ and going to Dean Lowery's shop....

Mr "C" went to Mr "A" when the car was sold to one of Mr C's students,
The new owners last name started with an "A"
Hey Rick M.,
Not sure if you remember me, I came to AZ to see Mike and we helped with the first Bug Run, I still have a dash plaque...
We were the guys with the new black Z28 (we always bitched about bottoming out going to Mikes house in Cave Creek)
Great to see your name again. Hope all is well.
Take care,
