I was talking to Bob Godfrey on fri. and he told me that the bakersfield strip had to be torn up and completly redone. It didn't pass the compaction test. On the other hand it looks like fontana has finaly gotten started. They poured the concrete for the lanch pad this week. Don't know how far out it goes though. Has any one heard anything else?

Steve,

Yes Famoso is being redone, I heard it wasn't to their liking. Hope they get it done!

As for Fontucky:
Here is something I saw over on PSCA.com

: Dave and his crew are doing is awesome.
: Considering what they had to work with - he
: has given the racers a super track to race
: on. 60 foot wide with 330 feet of perfectly
: flat concrete and the track is very smooth
: as they used a special blend of asphalt from
: 330 to the sand trap. No more sideways
: burnouts either!!
:
: This is going to be one awesome venue with
: no sun in your eyes anymore.
:
: So far the schedule will call for additional
: asphalt early next week around the starting
: line, a paint stripe job, a soap and water
: scrub before a good VHT treatment and then
: they will begin dragging the track.
