A friend of mine bought a bug a few years ago that had the pan powder coated by a company in SoCal, no idea who may have done the work but it's been upgraded and a very professional powder coating job by whoever did this work.
Anyone know Who in So-Cal does Power Coatings and upgrades on older VW Pans. Also what is a guess of what this job may cost?

First off: What "upgrades" are you referring to?
Secondly: Where are you located (SoCal is a big area)?
Without knowing the answer to these two questions it's hard to help out. However, here's a start. It's most probable the "upgrades" were done by someone other than the powder coater. We removed jack points, welded all unnecessary holes and cleaned the pan prior to blasting. After blasting it went to the powder coater. $100 for the blasting, $150 for the coating.

When stripping a car down and while at this point it was a good idea to uprade the early Pans with the front shifter guide and other upgrades where needed?
