When installing the AN adapter fittings into the oil pump cover and oil filter adapter, since they're aluminum, is any teflon paste, or anything else, needed before screwing them in.  I'm so afraid of overtightening and cracking the aluminum in the first place.  What tips are there?  Thanks!

Try using lock tite green sleeve locker , it will seal pipe threads and fill any gaps so you don't have to overtighten fittings and risk cracking case, mount or cover.
Thats what gene berg recomends .

I use PST on all NPT fittings, never cracked, stripped, leaked.

Well, that's totally the wrong product, according to Loctite.  I recommend Loctite PST.  I use teflon tape, that's exactly what teflon tape is for.  I have never split anything because I don't overtighten.
