A friend of mine that knows that I am into VWs, sent me a link to a google book review on Motion Performance.   Has some OT photos of American mucscle cars, but also has a few pics of Bill Mitchell's Thunder Bug and the Porsche that he also drove.  If interested, click on the link.

I grew up 5 miles from Motion Baldwin Mini Car and remember the going there in the 70s.

My neighbor had a Motion Chevelle.

IIRC, there is a good in-depth article in this old publication about the Motion Thunderbug engine.  This was back when "hogging" out the cylinder head ports was popular.

I see $ 119.95 for a 48IDA.  Where is the low-ball price?

wasn't there some big issue with the west coast guys saying bill mitchell shouldn't hold any records cause the cars roof was chopped to much. i tried calling bill mitchell a long time ago to see if he did vw engines and the guy i spoke with said bill doesn't want to talk anything about vw's or have anything to do with them. i have friends that have worked for him and say he would never talk about vw's or his past with them. sounds to me like he has something to hide just my 2 cents

Here's a bit of discussion over on the Cal Look Lounge from earlier this year:

Billy is my friend Ernie's cousin.

I introduced Ernie to Dyno Don at the All Aircooled Gathering and Ernie told Don that Billy has no interest in talking about VWs.
