I bought Gas Burner repros from CIP1 four months ago. The boxes had Flat-4 markings here and there. But they do a pretty good job of concealing the country of manufacture, because the boxes nor the wheels have any indication whatsoever. I guess they could be from China.
The quality? Look at these pics...first they sent me
three 4-lugs and
one 5-lug. I returned the 5-lug, and the wheel they sent back was semi-defective (see pics). The machined edge around the lip went only about 1/3 of the way around. So three wheels had machined edges, the fourth wheel was mostly a round lip with no machined edge. It almost looked as if the wheel hub was not concentric during machining, and the cutter barely kissed one section of the wheel. Also, the clear coat was awful, like heavy melted candle wax. They eventually replaced that one after a dispute.
Edit: what I forgot to say was that overall, the quality and finish of the wheels is fine, they look good. I think no matter who makes them, there's always the possiblity for a quality issue. If you want to hear about my experience with CIP1, shoot me a PM.
Oh yeah, note the green Quality Inspector sticker on the defective wheel.
