The Midwest's largest performance ACVW club cordially invites all of our VW friends to the First Annual DdK Dyno Day!

Yes, what started off as a campfire conversation has become a reality!  We thought it would be cool to have a huge dyno session open to all VW enthusiasts on the same weekend as the Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival.  It'll be a fun action packed two days- including a museum tour, dyno testing, and the famous MVVF show.

The Agenda is:

5/20
11:00 AM The exclusive VOA museum tour at:
Volkswagen Of America
3800 Hamlin Road
Auburn Hills, MI 48326

1:30 PM, DdK Dyno Day Officially Starts at:
Nelsons Performance
3683 Elizabeth Lake Road
Waterford, MI 48328
(At the corner of Elizabeth Lake Road and M-59, which is roughly 15 minutes from VOA.  Allow 25 minutes if you are driving your ACVW  Wink )
ALL ACVW enthusiasts are encouraged to attend!  Dyno'ing is open to everyone, and all are welcome to spectate.

$75 buys 3 pulls on their chassis dyno.  Note that jet and timing changes are allowed between them providing the interruption takes no more than 5 minutes.  Keep in mind that others will be waiting to get their car tested, so be courteous!   Grin

5/21 Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival at:
Old Depot Town in Ypsilanti, MI

For more information, visit:
www.ddkvw.com -and-

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Keep that thing at Silver Lake others don’t want to see your pride and joy.  The only thing you need to worry about is Test Hill.  Paddles don’t work so well on the pavement you should know that by now.  By the way how many coat hangers went into welding that thing again?

See you there

CrazyBob told me I can run my 1835 "Chick Magnet" trike.  Is this true?  All that diamond plate drives the ladies wild and would look purdy in the magazine.

I'll be participating in the Berg Cruise as I have in the past....from my home state of California.
Last year I participated in the 50th Anniversary Karmann Ghia/Herbie Across America Cruise from Santa Monica to Ypsilanti, MI. and got home in time for the Sacramento Bug-O-Rama.

Chuck, Will you be Dyno'ing your car?
The MVVC banquet is at 5:00 pm. If any want to attend, give at least an hour to make it to Ypsilanti from Waterford.
I'm stoked about this. See you all there

I will be bringing my Red Turbo car for the Dyno run and car show.
The motor is making really good power right now and ran 12.33 @112mph on  16psi  last year before stripping the teeth off my old 3.80 mainshaft.

Cost and logistics prevent me from brining the "Killa' Bee". I know she's makeing somwhere close to 200hp from a 2095cc. I guess I'll just save the HP estimates for the track and see what she runs there...

Bob.. Is the dyno going to give HP estimates "to the road" or "at the flywheel"?

Stopped by there yesterday to warn him of the ammount of cars and spectators. It looks like 50 will fit in the lot. Spectators will have to park across the street at the K-Mart. I asked him about trykes and buggy's. They will be no problem.
The dyno is a dynojet unit. I'm sure there is a formula for converting to flywheel HP.
The rules are:
No burnouts in the lot. On the road you are subject to the wrath of the local fuzz
No people in the dyno room while cars are being dyno'ed (the doors will be open though)
No Hi octane beverages or drugs.
Please do not litter in his lot.
Act like adults and everything will be fine
The police are cool and like to come and watch too.
This is a mustang tuning shop so no snide comments about his bread and butter.......... NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See you all there.
The trophys will be for highest and lowest hp.
Again if any attending businesses want to donate any prizes.HuhHuh? Volksbash radio? Hot Vw's? come to mind.
I will work on Volkswagen of America.

Hey bugjuice67... working on some mods now. By the dynoday, I should have the lowered/narrowed frt beam on, T-bars, BRM's, and Alberts repo mirrors on it... and the roof rack, foglights, fender gaurds, mud flapss, etc off it. I like all those "accessories", but it's just not the look I am going for. They will look nice hanging on the wall in my workshop!

Adding to Bob's research:

Yes trikes and buggies are allowed, no paddle tires and both must have spots to secure their chassis to the dyno via straps.

Also- this will only generate WHP...  Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hope to make it and see how I compare with cars from the rest of the country. It's about 800 miles for me.

Thanks, Chris.  I'm chugging into town late Fri. night (IF my stupid engine lasts that long) so I'll stop by Sat. at VoA.

Another milestone trip for Jim K!

Roland from NY, with same car as on inaugural run 10 years ago.
