Hi guys,
Happy New Year to EVERYONE!!! I lowered the rear of my car and here are my results(pros and cons) and a question for everyone.
Pro's:
   1. My wider rear wheels do not stick out past my fenders anymore on the top!
   2. Handles a little better for sure!
   3. Looks good too, due to the rear wheels being tucked into the fenders now!
Cons:
   1. Rides like crap now in the rear!
   2. Wheels are off camber as you would expect!
   3. Horrible traction now out of the hole!
   4. Needless to say my 7 inch wide rims in the rear need to go.
   5. Probably a ticket by the local Fuzz if they feel like pulling me over.
So as you can see, the Cons outweigh the Pro's and I want to raise it back up! I just do not like the ride at all.
   Questions:
What about if I go back to a 5.5 rear rim. Could I use one of those custom "Z" shaped spring plates and get a little bit lower and still have a nice quality ride? Would I even need that if I went back to a 5.5 rim?Huh
I hate messing with the rear end, as it's a garage job and hurts my back always. Crap!
What do you guys think? Here's what it looked like at stock rear height.

Your stock ride height looks fine to me. Just lower the front end slightly lower than the rear and you've got a hot practical look.
I had my irs 68 lowered so the rear 195/65 tyres were tucked under the fenders by around half an inch while the front was lowered to give a nose down stance. The front tyres were 145/55 and the beam was only 2inches off the road.
A great static look but a nightmare on the road terrorized by the smallest of speed bumps and dips in the road. The front beam occasionally bottomed out and my extended sump took a beating as did my magna flow muffler Angry
The inside edge of the rear tyres also wore very fast. I raised the suspension an inch both ends and lived happily ever after...good night

Aussie Rob,
Yea, thanks! I think thats what needs to be done. I just hate the look of my tires out past my fenders on the top.
I think if I went with a narrower rim that problem would be solved. I am just trying to find out the best options here.
Seems a lowered rear end loses alot of the weight being slammed down on the rear on launch= NO TRACTION! Even with my Berg traction bar being installed.
Those notches spring plates are kinda like dropped spindles and the 2" ones would seem to work well!
  Thank you

By the way all my front end is new with 2" dropped spindles and 145 tires. So I am good to go on the front! I even put a 3/4 sway bar on. The front rides really nice for how low it is!
