From personal experiance friction modifier ( FORD) is not good when using synchros, so slippery it will not shift into next gear, but works great for what it was designed for.

I use the GM additive when the gear oil doesn't already have it.
I've heard bad things about the Dodge stuff.

i think the additive used will depend on if is a clutch type lsd or a gear type .   what type do you have?

It is a clutch type.  You MUST use the additive.

If you can't find the GM stuff, look for some gear oil that already has it.

horror  tale

I used the mopar additive in my dakota with new LSD, 2 days after I used the additive my rear end begins to squeak.

I change the oil  and now I dont have anykind of issue.

I will never buy again this additive.

I do a research in porsche forum about which additive to use, I found a lot of bad histories with this additive, because are not good with synchro, I found that someone  use kendall additive , but porsche recommend the use for 901, 915, and 930 with lsd  swepco 210 oil , expensive !

I found castrol hypoy for lsd at good price, hope this oil works

because I cant found the gm or kendal

I've been using that in my 901-boxed '71 911 (which has a factory LSD) for 6 years with good results (touch wood). I used no additional additive.

My 1.5 cents.

yes, I have a 930 and 951 and I never had  a problem (lucky),
I found some vw lsd that have more than 30 years old, that are in great shape and I believe that nobody of the previous owners  know about this special lsd oil or add anykind of additive. This lsd are Reliable !

But now that I know that exist a special oil for lsd I cant live with this.

sadly, here in Mexico I cant bought this oils because no body import it .
then I need to wait for my next travel to usa

I found bmw, mercedes, jeep (mopar) synthetic oil for lsd, 55 usd the quart !,
but for me this oil are for gear (rear end)only not for synchronizer in transaxle application
I already talked to castrol and motul importers but they do not sell this oils for this country.
(gm do not sell the eos ,slip additive, and supercharger oil in mexico )

then I will use this cheap castrol that says is for limited slip gl5 that I already have a box and I used the last 5 years, in my recently rebuilt transaxle.
I need to buy a 19 liter can of swepco 210

glad that I can buy locally in costco delo diesel engine oil !

Yep, that's exactly what I'm using in the 901. The original box (with factory LSD) has 58K miles and has never been touched. When I bought the car the original owner said to me, "make sure that you use a fluid made for a LSD." He was proud of the fact that he ordered his 911 with a LSD and always took care of it.

Yeah, the Porsche guys swear by Swepco. I know that Glenn Ring is using it in his Berg 5 speed and likes it.

Bruce is the LSD expert (at least with regard to trannys - I can't speak to any other LSD experience.)  Wink
