Hi guys,

I'm in the process of fitting a Hurst line lock. I will use some "npt to metric" adapters in order to use the original M10*100 fittings on brake lines.

I've read quite often that the threads on the Hurst Line lock cause leaks, therefore I was wondering what product could I use on the threads to avoid them. I don't want to use teflon.

What about permatex ? Loctite 542 or 577 ?

What do you guys do to avoid leaks with the Hurst Line Lock ?

Thanks and regards

Phil

What's wrong with teflon tape?
Just take care to apply it properly and it works fine.
If you are set against it, then I like the loctite hydraulic sealant stuff.

Technicaly teflon tape isn't for sealing, it's to lube the threads while you tighten the fittings.  But there is no denying that is has sealing properties.
