Interesting that you pick a camshaft and build an engine around it! I would buy the best heads you can afford, if you can't spend $500 or more I would think about looking at a different cam. Also make sure you buy a crankshaft that can spin 7000RPM, there is still alot of old cast storker cranks around as well as some new ones made that I wouldn't spin past 6500.
2276 runs really well with a K8 for all around driving, maybe some racing. 82x94, the way parts are these days you can build a 2332 for the same price as a smaller engine.
What I like to call the super torqer engines are pretty cheap to build, but I wouldnt run a K8 cam in them. Take a 4140 74mm crankshaft from CB, some stock rods, 94 jugs, mild 40x35 heads, I have been using VZ25 cam, 11:1 compression, 40 webers, 1 5/8 exhaust, stick a 6500 rev limiter in it. and you have a 140 horse engine that runs on AV Gas, and has a great power band. For street use and engle 110 cam and 9:1 should run on premium pump gas. These engines have slight negative deck height, so I usually have to shove from .090 to .120 of shimms under the jugs to set deck height, but they go together pretty quick, little clearancing, and no back and fourth to the machine shop.

Yep, the question is backwards, as you pick the cam last.
Tell us about your intended use, goals, budget, etc.
Cheers,
JP

no budget, in a street car, some 1/8 mile drag strip, maybe.

I think that the lack of response is due to the lack of detail.
But I'll give a go, based on my personal experience...
Since you already have the 42 DCNfs:
2110 Ported 40 x 37.5-ish heads (focus on great port velocity) with port-matched manifolds K8 cam Stock-based, balanced rods (heavy duty rod bolts) Forged, counter-weighted crank 9:1 1 5/8 header 37 mm vents Full flow oiling Stock plus auxiliary cooler All stock engine tin 1.4 to 1 ratio rockers with H/D aluminum push rods 12 lb flywheel 1700 pressure plate Solid, stock clutch disc 92-93 Octane
Maybe 150-ish flywheel horsepower (at sea level). It will go like hell, be a pleasure to drive, reliable, fun at the track from time-to-time. Gobs of torque. Lower to mid 20s (MPG) on the highway (depending on driving style). Buy high quality parts (don't cheap out). Balanced parts and attention to detail.
You could also try a 2276, but I have no experience with 94s. 82 crank engines are easier to build than (and have gobs of torque) 84 crank engines, and you can use stock rods as a basis.
There are lots of combinations out there, but I can only comment on my own experience.
My 1.5 cents.
J

My engine is mostly what John stated. It is a 78 x 94, but with only 8.1 CR. I am running a K8 with Berg 1.4 rockers and 42 DCNFs. Like John said, it has plenty of torque and will pull from below 2000 RPM in top gear and go all the way to about 110MPH (maybe more). I'm getting a little more than 20mpg on the highway and a little less in town (damn right foot).
What I like is I can cruise around town at 40 mph and just step on the gas and pull away in top gear. It is very fun to drive.

Mine is like John posted but 44 idfs with 38 vents with update kits, 9.3:1, Heads are the CB Ultra Mag CNC 42x37.5, CB unitec rods, stock oil cooler with external oil filter. It did 122 to the tires on Jake Rabys Dyno consistantly for 15 - 20 pulls to 6500rpm with 126 tq. I run 93 Octane gas and an MSD ignition system. He is very correct I love the power you feel driving it.
