Just got my car on the road and noticed that under heavy acceleration at around 3-4000rpm it jumps out of gear. This happens in 2nd gear. Everything on the car like the mounts are new and the box is a 1500 box which has been stripped and re-built with welded gears, heavy duty side plates and super diff. What could be causing this to happen?

Thanks

Matt

An improperly adjusted shift fork will do that.
Also, worn slider and/or 2nd gear hub.
Not much else would do what you are talking about that I can think of...

Soft rubber mounts and big hp will do it too.  When you put the power on, the front of the trans wants to go up.  This motion can sometimes pull against the shift rod and shifter, pulling it out of gear.

What Tom said is more likely.

Get used to seeing more of this with rebuilt gearboxes.  The rebuilders are getting to the bottom of the barrel with their cores.  Most have been rebuilt 2-3 times now.  Making this worse is the fact that you haven't been able to buy German sliders, forks, etc. for many years.

Long Enterprises will remachine your worn out slider.  Measure the groove first.  You don't want to send them one that's worn too much.

Or, you can replace the original German slider for a new Brazilian one.

Tried adjusting things but nothing has changed. I did notice that it isn't just 2nd gear as i went up a hill in 3rd and it jumped out of gear then as well. Looks like its gearbox out again.
