Got my June issue & I'm really impressed. Dean did such a good job covering the Silver Dollar Showdown that I'm jealous I didn't get to go! Next year I am there for sure.
Cool story on the Pinks project too!

I remember when it would take almost a year for an event to show up in the mag.  Man I hope I get my May issue soon  Roll Eyes  cuz that means June should be right behind it......

Thanks!

That pic was taken after a full 15 hour work day and I didn't clean up for the shot!

I keep my work area as clean as humanly possible... Dean got tired of smelling denatured alchohol- I'm sure!

The pic was taken just in front of the stainless work bench on the left of this pic.

Sure it has...
My current machine shop is the original building I started out with...

20 years ago it had a wire fence down the middle with hogs on one side and Chickens on the other- I built engines with a drop light draped over the rafters- and it had a dirt floor.... I learned cleanliness and organization building Turbine engines and now I can't work if anything is cluttered!

Ditto on the coverage by DEAN!!!!!!!

Way to go! and quick turn around on the coverage!

I feel honored to be mentioned 2 times in the mag in 2 different coverages, the DYNO which I was given the ado for the most torque but it was Mike M from Orlando that won that trophy not me!!

I was runner up in both the Dyno Day and the Street challenge!  Yep still have the same problem. Can't get the car to pull upper rpm's ,, Oh Well

Cant' wait for the next one!

is there a feature on a slick looking nitrous powered silver chop top in that issue?

if so, it belongs to fellow vancouverite jim martin (clf member). very nice car that should be running 11's this year.

I must ditto everyone else on this thread..................Great Job Dean and the Hot VWs crew on an EXCELLENT June issue!
Since I got mine a little early, I took it with me to a show and saw the Lo Cash clan, well they were telling me that I should make sure and get the June issue so I could see the coverage of the Pinks project. Well when I told John, I had it already and looked at the story, his jaw dropped! I have never seen a man so excited to see the magazine! Shocked Grin He followed me to the truck and I got it out for him and Lester to drool over!

Thanks again to everyone that made it out to the Silver Dollar Weekend. We hope that you had fun! You never know what 2007 has in store! Tongue

Just picked up the mag, awesome issue!

It's pretty unreal to see My super in print.Grin It's right beside Raby's dyno pic.
The caption reads this is Kevin Smiths' with 132 hp. Huh

Well, mentioned in the results, I came in 4th! arghhh.... with a 66?

I'm telling ya, fat chicks get no respect! Grin

BTW, that fat chick had it's belt on the 911 fan. Wink I believe 4th was top spot for the guys dynoing with their belts. Cool

What do you guys think it would have put down with the belt off?

Pete

I generally saw a 20-24HP loss with most 911 kits in my testing..

The worst one was a 29HP loss--

I had my belt on also and made 162 hp at only 6200 rpm and 154 ft-lbs of torque.

Hot Vws messed up and didn't put me down, but I should have been 5th.

I didn't realize you ran with your belt on. If they had followed the rules that i was told by the promotor-IE belts and mufflers, we would have come in 1 and 2.
