well here is the new work bench its microlame 2x16 lol  hope it can hold a vise and a engine stand .
As far for updates been working on the fenders .

Well the babysitter was sick and i had to stay home and watch devin so when it was his nap time I got this done going to marglass it and sand down and put a skim coat of iceing on it and prime ..

    2 inch fender strip





  gotta love those 11 inch rotors  Cool  rusty rotors make me sad

  going to do the  drivers again make it even with the passernger side

No its not.   I have had alot of vw's in my time. I have the og title for that car window sticker and the dealer receipt and the book for the glove box ! I am the second owner ..

well its been a bit since my last post been really busy with just life & my son he turned 1 last tuesday he is so f -n kool. Grin so i  have fitted the hood to the car and started to prep the outside of the hood. taken a break from the rear fenders for a sec.  jezz tons of work goes into maken a rear fenders Shocked!

back to the rear passenger fender tonight its alomst done abit more sanding and a fresh coat of primer and i will move on the the other rear fender.
I was closing the hood and kinda makes that squeaky closing sound It was like music to my ears . I just cant wait to get this car done and just take the a long road trip.

well i did not get to paint the hood and deck lid tonight ran out of paint more is on the way. going to start peping the bottem color tomoorrow will post some pic's soon. going to tape off the top with plastic and paint the doors off the car. going to paint the dash next and then the body and the fenders. it well be done soon ..  yay hoo

So the black turn out nice for no booth the best part is there is no runs or sag's just some trash but i can wet sand that out with some 2500  .... I am going to start preping the lower part and dashboard today  i think i can get the tan shot tonight some time I hope .

shot some tan on the four quarter panels and inner fender wells and front apron .... going to do the dash next i guess I well have a tapen to do! lol painting the doors off the car as well as the fenders deck lid and hood. thats next week on the build up of a beast.... pic's cooming soon.

 Well start preping the dash tonight and remove doors to prep jams  tryn to get shell done so i can put glass in it and put outside so i can work on fenders and bits .

Today boys and girls I painted the black again on the car and I painted the hood hinges and head light rings door handles and t handle. One door is ready for the seals to be put on. going to paint the fenders and dash other door this coming up week. will clear the black with metal flake this coming up weekend.

so tonight I paint the hood and the top of the door and the hood handle Black. the clear should be here tomorrow so i can start to squirt the flake on saturday. tommorrow i will paint the a deck lid think I will run the home made empi lid , metal deck lid fiberglass scoop.

Well last night I flaked the deck lid and the body WOW It's Flaked man let me tell you.     I am the kind of person that its all or nothen no half way wishy washy crap.  my girl does not like it buts it my car. Its a little much but it s growing on me.

still wet sanding thats dry sanded off clear on the back pillers. this is the hardest stage  NEVER SHOT FLAKE BEFORE!     Tricky stuff but its turning out nice ... Cool  Love old pop out's they been in storage for 15 years ... lol   I had this car for a long time.. ands it finally its getting done I cant wait to cruz   Das Tier

i was hoping for deeper black with more pronounced bassboat flake, but i have a feeling that that is how it actually looks, and your pix are doing the flash-overexpose thing to where we're not seeing it as does the naked eye.  maybe you need to clear it so it POPS at us.

in all, i like the concept for sure!

Will clear after pin striping & Lettering is done! I also sanded the black before I  squirted the flake so it would be flater.  I can assure you that it will be POPPING when it is cleared for now its only when water is ran over it. I used  my regular gun to shoot the flake I turn the filter upside. I used mini flake on this project so I could use my regular gun. You would need a gun made for shooting larger flake and those guns cost a grip.

Well to tonight I put a second coat on the dash. I will paint the front wings and put the rag  in and put the pop outs back in and try to put the hood and the doors  back on tommrow after work. Will post some pic's asap
