front shocks

What do you guys with the 4 or 6 inch narrowed beams run for shocks when going down the track. I have heard you were required to have them but I have never seen anyone look for them during tech inspection where I race.
Just wondering what to do because as of right now I am going to be sitting the car on the bumper with a wheelie every pass.

yes, just curious if anyone is going down the track without shocks. The car is going to pull the tires easy and I am afraid something is going to break when she comes down. Once you narrow the beam over 3 inches or so the shock towers have to go bye bye

I cut a beam 8" and can tell you without a doubt that 7" is the absolute max you can go!! Oh well, on the positive side, I didn't need a steering stabilizer with that one cause the steering shaft rub took care of it for me! Live and Learn

You should never go without front shocks.. Buy a good 90/10 or adjustable shock and run it. I've narrowed my front 8" and still have shock towers...

What do you have for a bump stop? I would definately run front shocks, any little bump in the track will cause the wheel to start bouncing and without a shock there is nothing to stop it. If your wheels aren't perfectly balanced at some speed they will start to bounce.

The beam just has the stock bump stops in between the trailing arms. I can run a stock beam and use shocks but if I run the 4 inch narrowed beam the shock towers are going to hit the body of the car and wouldn't work without cutting the body or completely removing the shock towers and eliminating the shocks. I guess the safest thing for me to do is just use a stock width beam and say heck with a narrowed beam.

My beam is narrowed 2 1/2" and I use CE 90/10 3-ways. The zero offset ERCOs really tuck in.
