First, an apology to everyone who has been waiting patiently for their raffle tickets and posters: I'm sorry, but I grossly underestimated the number of online orders to expect.

As of this morning, all orders from the first 14 days of the raffle have been shipped out. The rest will ship next week, and then we will be 100% and should maintain that on a weekly basis

The boring details:

Lester and I expected most sales to happen over the counter through the various shop offering the tickets. Boy, were we wrong…

Keep in mind that 1 order involves filling out the ticket stub (or stubs), logging the data on the spreadsheet, stuffing the envelope or tube (for poster orders) putting shipping info on the package and then sending on it’s way. We had not thought far enough in advance to develop a way of handling this process automatically. We had just figured on doing it all by hand. By the second or third day, this was no longer an option for us. Remember, we have “real jobs” and right now we are both working 12+ hours a day 6 days a week and time is precious.

So Lester (mostly) and I sorted out a way to handle things more efficiently and unclog the bottle neck. The orders are moving out now and will continue to do so, on a regular basis.

The incoming orders have slowed down quit a lot; enough to have me a little concerned in fact. I expected with the great coverage in this month’s issue of Hot VW’s we would have seen a surge in web sales or at least questions emailed to us. So far that hasn’t happened. If you have any intentions of buying a ticket, please don’t wait. I’d rather sell out and have people still wanting them than have unsold tickets left over.

We will be at the various event surrounding and including The VW Classic Weekend.  We will be selling tickets and displaying the car so if you haven’t bought your tickets yet you can get them there if you’re attending.

Thanks for your time and remember to watch May 31st

John
