Sorry if not in the right section

I've struggled to properly install the black plastic vent pieces behind my quarter windows.  I've gone thru two sets from West Coast Metric (both cracked) and I just received some from Wolfsburg West that will not snap in all the way.  I can get the top inserted and then the bottom rear, but the front will not snap into place.  My paint isn't too thick inside the lip so I don't think that is the issue.

I wonder if I try to put them in a pot of hot water for a bit.

Any suggestions are welcome.

These are the older WCM ones.

Glenn -

Since you have a '74, did you install new vent pieces, re-use the old ones or fill in the holes?

I know about aftermarket crap.  The new brake fluid reservoir I bought from RMM (Rocky Mountain Motorworks) leaked fluid onto my new paint job in 1995.  I cleaned up the old one and am still using it.  The new one had a faulty plastic weld at the seam.

I used new(NOS) OE vents.

The aftermarket ones are crap and don't fit correctly.
