I have always wondered if there is a specified standard torque setting for the crankshafts rod journal oil passage set screw.
After cleaning the crank ready for assembly i usually loctite the set screw and just tighten it as much as posssible without causing damage to it.
So far so good! Is there any better method?

That is what I've been doing for years.  No problems to date...

All screws have a correct torque value. Just use an online chart. Remember that different metals have different values.

'cos its tapered i'd do '2 flats past finger tight' I know its a bit imprecise, but tighten finger tight with the short arm of the allen key, then 1/3 of a turn more (2 flats). Taught to me by an old bloke (engineer). Use loctite as you do. many people wrench on tapered fittings which is not needed, particularly alloy.
