For the Gmund 356 race cars. It had a large internal steel windage tray that attached to the oil pickup tube to prevent oil starvation under hard cornering. It would look cool on a vintage speed Beetle engine.

Although I can only imagine what it would cost  Roll Eyes

That's a great idea for oil cooling, like sticking a big heat sink on a cpu in a computer. Someone should repop those for VWs, how deep are the fins? With that shape it looks like it could even be fit with a diaphragm to keep oil pressure for start up like an Accusump.

They are repro'd.  I bet the one in the pic is a repro.

Interesting sump on that Porsche case. 

It appears the rods have been balanced based on the grind/polish of the little end.

I like all the fin area with the round shape... nice vintage look..maybe we can get doug berg to make more like the one he made for me... notice how air hole size is berg traction bar diameter. works well. bill

Yep - old school - a few minutes on the belt sander and back on the scale  Grin

They are repro'd.  I bet the one in the pic is a repro.

Chris Morley has been (having) those made for quite some time....

Cool - anyone know roughly what they go for?
