I know Jake Raby did some testing in the past but it seemed to fade off the radar.

I think this 'can-o-worms' was recently re-opened on the Samba.

I have flame ports on my 044s and couldn't be happier with the power and how cool the heads run. Mileage was 30 US last highway trip.  Grin

Hi Martin,
Do you have any pictures of your grooves? What was the "guidelines you followed on placement and depth, etc. Could you tell a differance before and after? What are your engine specs (size, cam, rockers, etc.)

Sorry no other info, but I think it has something like what Dougy mentions. The build thread is here http://www.cal-look.com/forum/cal-look-high-performance/thought-i'd-post-a-couple-pics/
The engine is still breaking in and the turbo is set to not make any boost yet and has a 5k rev limit set still... I'll post more to the thread later, for now I'm still stunned by this motor!
