I realise that this is one of those touchy subjects...
1.  those aren't Empi's (like every other pair of knock offs, except for the few)..
2.  you need Fuchs (over done, but classic... only deep 6s)..
3.  Gas Burners (along with my first son and a couple appendages and a bottomless wallet, and now JGE enters the game)..
4.  if it ain't BRMs (then you aren't like every one else, damn you flat 4... only speedwells)...
5.  Cosmics (pink elephants come to mind)...
6.  Raders (ehhh?)..
7.  Randars (better but still ehh?)
8.  Sprint Stars (following the BRMs)
etc...
etc...

I have liked and disliked every pair of wheels I have stated and more in the past 15 years .  What I am getting at here is that while I am acruing the cash to buy my "Real Deal" Gas Burners (got about 1400, like most people, I have a budget) or real Ercos (bubble fronts.. no center lines) I was thinking of doing something a little "taboo" in todays VW world.  I know that back in the day, Torq Thrusts were relatively common.  So I was thinking about some Torq Thrusts or some Salt Flats (15's) for a slightly different look... classic, sure... cal-look (by todays definition), no.  I know the bolt pattern is different, but what offset should I look for?  Give me your input... slandery...

Both of those are bitchin' wheels. You'll need as much backspace as you can get. For the front, you can compensate with a narrow beam. The bolt pattern really isn't that much of an obstacle. Dare to be different.

I've always loved the Salt Flats...however, the only color I can put those wheels on is a primered black beetle (with polished black flames) Grin

However, if I ever get the extra coin:

I have eye-balled the E/T Gassers for front runners.  Damn fine wheels... damn fine.  I always thought of those wheels (heritage wise) as spindle mount... emm.. halibrand.

I had planed on running a set of Salt Flats on one of my projects. I had them mounted and everything. Then I lost interest in the whole think and sold it all off including the wheels. The fronts were 4" with I think 1-1/2 back spacing and the rears were 7" with 3-3/4" back space. The front beam was narrowed 8" and had drop spinles and disc brakes. I would loose the disc brakes and not narrow the beam as much if I ever did it again.

Cool im just putting some Torq-Thrust D in Cheuy bolt pattern on my 65. Got them in 4.5" and 6" will post some photos of them on the car as soon as i can.

The 4.5`s and 6`s have the same outside spacing. You would for sure need a narrowed beam (Probably 4 inches) and maybe 1" wider fenders.

i was thinking if these
in 15x6 3.25 back spacing and 15x4 1.5 backspacing. not sure if they will work with cb disk brakes.

These are pretty cool. I think they are available in four lug also but need to make Porsche pattern.

That link didnt work. go to www.flat4.co.jp and click on the box that says "Flat Four original wheels" and has a black beetle on it.
You can change the car color and wheels by clicking on them.

No need to change bolt pattern both wheel styles are availible for VW's.

The salt flats are cool. i considered a pair for my flat balck oval, but I was short on time and money, so I just went with the douglas spun AL

Thats what I ended up doing (.190, for street).  I'm just waiting on getting them now.

BTW, anyone heard from Steve (Serrano Co) about the whole Erco wheel thing?
