Of course everyone dreams of going to The Classic, but California is a long way for a dude from Kentucky. Finally after 6 years of hard work I have a car I would be proud to take to such an awesome show! The Classic IS the place to be, and its only 4 weeks away. I'm doing my best to get there with some help from my friends.

-Kevin "Smiff", from Georgia, my fellow BK brother, is hooking me and Suzi up w/ round trip plane tickets.

-Anibal Chico, from Chico Performance Racing, Monrovia, CA. is providing room accommodations for us.

-Wild Bill Tucker, from the Rare Air Emerald Coast VW Club out of Pensacola FL. who has continuously rallied support to try and make this happen.

-Jake Raby, from Raby's Aircooled Technology, in Cleveland GA. is helping with shipping cost.

-Advanced Plating, in Nashville TN., has jumped in on the effort, and agreed to help with some shipping cost.

-John Jones, Kustom Coach Work, Grand Junction CO. has donated a 4.5'' link pin beam to be auctioned for proceeds to help the effort.

-Tony Pierson, Wolfsburg West, Corona CA., is throwing in on shipping cost.

 Extremely greatful!!

I haven't figured out how I'm going to get the car there yet, so any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I also replied to the post on the STF regarding this, as I know there's some folks out there who may see this a little less favorably.  The main question is why not drive the car?  Is it a full-tilt race or show car?

No offense intended, I think there's a lot of folks out there who'd like to attend the classic, car or no car, but either can afford it and go or can't and don't.  Please don't take this the wrong way, just wondering if there's more to the story that we don't know.

Eric "Kromeboy" Parkerson's car is a full tilt, no holds barred, to the moon, holy crap, show car. The attention to detail on the car has to be seen, to be believed.
I forget how many awards it has won at some of the bigger, more notable Southeast shows, such as the Pasco Bug Jam, Circle Yer Wagens, and others, but it's a BUNCH. If he manages to get it out to SoCal, some of you hard-core "if it ain't from SoCal it ain't crap" guys are in for some competition, and maybe a surprise... Cool

Of course, that's JMHO. I've never seen a show VW, and never been to a VW show, or looked at any VW show cars. Cool
