Although this post was from a old topic I thought I would share my mod for this cheap knock off unit. I looked and looked for a breather to fit to no avail....so I cut the top off, and made a new one out of 16 gauge steel but it needed to be 1/4" thick for the grommet, so I made a washer, tacked and welded the new top back on.....I ended up painting the top black and added the new breather cap. For the price it seemed well built and with this mod made it functional  Tongue

Nice job! Looks really good and I hope it works well for ya! I have a Berg breather box and love it.
Where did you get your fan cover on your shroud from? I am looking for one of those!
 Thanks.

Thanks, I was going to get a Berg angular unit but they don't fit the Taiwan stands (that's another story), so this will work for now. The fan cover is a CB unit (#2177). Good luck with your car.

I've also been using one of those chrome breather towers for many years with a CB hex IDA linkage and have been very happy.  I did have to solder two extension elbows onto the existing vents to match my hose alignment, but that was fairly straight forward.

Volksnut,
Thanks! Yes, getting to work on it a bit now. Seems to be slow going but I like to take my time and do it right!
