On my 66 Bug with an adjustable beam, I have it lowered as low as it will go and am in the process of drilling out the outer tie-rod holes on the spindles to use the Bugpack Tie-Rod relocation kit to use late model tie rods upside down to minimize "Bump-Steer".
Now the holes are hard to drill thru and I might need to go buy a couple of more 5/8 bits to accomplish this task.

I have a newer ball-joint beam behind my garage that came off a 73 Reg. Bug. It is a 4 lug tho.

I,m wondering if I could put the spindles from the 73 on the 66 beam and still use my Wide-5 hubs?

Are the balljoints the same on the early and late beams?

The ball joints are the same, you only have to change the inner bearing to work with  the later splindle.
