An Aircooled Awakening !

There has suddenly become a Air Cooled VW awakening in Abilene Texas. Some of you might remember me from a while back. I used eat, breath, yada, yada VW.
Anyway change in life outlook, family health i been out of the scene for a while.I just found out some Bugs have been spotted in Abilene...my home town.
I found out they been meeting a few times and started a club up...Abilene Aircooled. I showed up at a meet and greet this evening at an event where the
American Heart Association was having a 60's theme event (in the civic center)and the Aircools were invited to come hang out. Cool! I took a few pics before it got too dark.

That link looks like a pic of my office gun cabinet all laid out on the floor... except my thing is the AK, instead of the AR. I've been shooting more than playing with VWs lately myself... Shot 700 rounds today!

I shot a million rounds of .223 or 5.56 NATO as we used to call, sure you and Jake have also.

BTW, I'm with Jake, I love the AK weapons and the 7.62 X 39

Jim, good to see your well and good. Been doing other things as well. Have a bad case of Fender fetish, as you did when you last posted. Nice to see your dad well and hanging out with you. Oh and I guess I'll have to use my Dillion to load up some .45ACP. Haveing a problem with finding Goex FFF these days. Again good to see your well and haveing fun.

FUNNY Looks like what sits between my mattress and box-spring! But I am an AK man also! Although I love my mini-14.  My other project is a .45-70 Govnt chambered ak based on a Saiga .410... cost about as much as my vw too!

I have an old Mini-14 Police in stainless... Thats my favorite 5.56 weapon, I like the action so much better than the AR.. At lunch I fired 3 mags through my AK 74 :-)

Too busy working on other people's junk to help pay for my pile. As far as Eric... "Just wait, you'll see...!"
