I have done a 6 to 12 volt convertion before but not on a 66 bug  . what up with the  flashers

Did you replace the flasher relay?  It needs to be 12V.  If you still have the 9 pin flasher box you can get a 12v one.  They are being reproduced.

man i am working a this for a friend who has not alot of money he brought me 2  of the 2 prong frashers  A local  vw shop talk him to buy these   will these work?
