Mike, you need to make up you mind about how far you wanna go... If you are gonna do IDAs in the future then go with the wedge and build up to it... If you wanna keep the Dels do the mini wedge... I think you should Just run that fk44 with a mild/hot head knowing that you are gonna wanna slap a snail on top of that thing in the long run...
I know, I know. I am conservative by nature having been bit by "bigger is better" in my younger years. I know I have to draw a line in the sand. My original build was going to be a FK8 with Stage II's, but DRD suggested the Fk44 instead. I know the FK44 will be a great cam and the Tim's heads will be well matched......but will I be satisfied with 13's?
I have already spent a ton of money on this "unassembled" dream sitting in the garage and this is the last decision.
Here is what I have
DRD CRANK
DRD h beams
new mag case
new mahle 94's
for cams ...
I have ready to go:
w120
w125
FK 8
FK44
and carbs ..
44 webers with 36 vents
45 dells with 38 vents
and rockers
new solid shaft 1.1's
new CB 1.25's
new CB 1.4's
The car is a super light 68 baja with a 4.37 tranny and 28" tires...stock ratios
So.....decisions decisions
My ultimate goal is at least a 12.80 at sea level. BUT I still want to be able to drive the thing anywhere.
Could I expect to drive around with a 86C and Wedge Ports/IDA's....Like a 50-60 mile trip??
