I like the tims heads they have all the cooling fins in tact. but it depends on how you are going to drive it street or race. Street I would for sure use the tims heads.

I've run 9.90's on CB Street Elims. Have beat the hell out of them and they are still good! Tough durable set of heads!

I've since moved to the Comp E's but I will be using the street elims on a back up motor.

I choose the Tims stage 2's for my 2332 build.
It will have an FK-8 for the cam in my daily driver.

They should be here next week.... Grin

the old "street eliminator" heads are now called the Eliminator 2000's and are slightly different.
Last time I checked they were out of stock for quite a while now.

Tims'  heads are nice.
Wedge ports are nice too.
If you are set on running the Dell's then I don't think you really need a wedport, rather the oval port or round port will work fine.

CB also has a new CNC head that is slightly smaller in port size than the Wedge Port, more port velocity and better torque will result, this head would be my choice for your application if you plan to use a CB product.

I had a pair of 044 heads (44 x 37.5mm) done by Clyde Berg, that are a bit more than the Oval Port heads, but less than the Wedgies. The Super Pro heads were not around then, otherwise I might have considered them.

I am running it with a Web 86B cam, 9.2 CR, Dell 45s and 1 5/8" A1 Sidewinder with heater boxes. The initial dyno session last month resulted in ~140 ft/lbs of torque starting at 3500 and up, and produced ~160 HP at 6500 RPM.

Mike, you need to make up you mind about how far you wanna go... If you are gonna do IDAs in the future then go with the wedge and build up to it... If you wanna keep the Dels do the mini wedge... I think you should Just run that fk44 with a mild/hot head knowing that you are gonna wanna slap a snail on top of that thing in the long run...

I would be interested in seeing some flow #'s for the new Super Pro heads, and maybe some performance #'s vs the wedge or mini wedge ports.

I know, I know.   I am conservative by nature having been bit by "bigger is better" in  my younger years.   I know I have to draw a line in the sand. My original build was going to be a FK8 with Stage II's, but DRD suggested the Fk44 instead.  I know the FK44 will be a great cam and the Tim's heads will be well matched......but will I be satisfied with 13's?

I have already spent a ton of money on this "unassembled" dream sitting in the garage and this is the last decision.

Here is what I have
DRD CRANK
DRD h beams
new mag case
new mahle 94's

for cams ...
I have ready to go:
w120
w125
FK 8
FK44

and carbs ..
44 webers with 36 vents
45 dells with 38 vents

and rockers
new solid shaft 1.1's
new CB 1.25's
new CB 1.4's

The car is a super light 68 baja with a 4.37 tranny and 28" tires...stock ratios

So.....decisions decisions

My ultimate goal is at least a 12.80 at sea level.  BUT I still want to be able to drive the thing anywhere.

Could I expect to drive around with a 86C and Wedge Ports/IDA's....Like a 50-60 mile trip??

I say Darren has a good one cuz my heads on my 2176 are similar to that and has what he explained and good for 12.50s at 10+1 comp and E130x1.25s and mega revs.
