She’s a runner!

I finally got the engine in an fired it up today. Basicly, no news is good news. It started right up, and once I got a piece of cardboard wedged in the carb linkage it ran uneventfully at 2200 RPM for 20 minutes. No oil leaks, no smoke, no funny sounds or smells, etc.
Here’s a few pictures. The car is a 1968, and yes, that is a Yakima rack with two bike mounts and a kayak mount. While the car looks pretty good, it’s definitely a driver! There’s a shot of the engine, and finally a picture of my exhaust (in case anyone is trying to figure out what it is from the first picture). It’s my own creation in an effort to have something that flows reasonably well but is QUIET. It uses a Walker “RV” muffler that is 22″ long…gotta have some muffler capacity if it’s going to effectively muffle!
